This Space Day aimed to ignite curiosity and passion for space sciences and careers among young learners through a series of hands-on workshops, engaging presentations, and interactive sessions.
The event was graced and actively supported by two distinguished ISAE-SUPAERO alumni:
- Arnaud Prost, a reserve astronaut at the European Space Agency (ESA).
- Ines Belgacem, a planetary scientist at NASA.
Highlights of the Day:
- European Parliament Simulation: Students participated in a simulation, tackling directives related to NewSpace, offering them a glimpse into the legislative processes influencing space policy.
- Astronaut Training: Attendees experienced a taste of astronaut training, including underwater exercises designed to simulate the weightlessness of space.
- DIY Space Elevator Workshop: Participants engaged in a practical workshop to understand communication with the Kineis satellite constellation, bringing the concept of space elevators to life.
- Inspiring Talks: The day featured motivational speeches and discussions aimed at encouraging students to dream big and pursue careers in the space sector.
Students also had the opportunity to interact closely with industry experts during speed meetings. Representatives from leading organizations such as CNES, Airbus, CESBIO, IRAP – Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planétologie, MEDES – Institute for Space Medicine and Physiology, and Thales provided insights and answered questions, enriching the students’ understanding of space exploration and related fields.
This event not only provided a platform for learning and inspiration but also fostered connections between aspiring young scientists and professionals in the space industry, paving the way for the next generation of space explorers.
