SpaceTech.NRW2025 is the first annual event that brings the space industry players together in the western German State of Northrhine Westfalia, emphasizing that North Rhine-Westphalia is a hub for space technology.
The state government is strengthening the space sector as a key driver of research and the economy—helping tackle global challenges such as climate change, communication, and urban infrastructure.
To build on existing efforts and spark new ideas, Minister-President Hendrik Wüst and Deputy Minister-President Mona Neubaur, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), hosted the first “SpaceTech.NRW” space conference in Cologne on April 30, 2025.
The fact that Heinrich Heine University (HHU) was invited to participate as a representative of the UNIVERSEH alliance highlights the university’s growing recognition and involvement within the international space education and research community.
