About “It’s Not Rocket Science”

As part of the English course given in the first year of the bachelor’s degree in science-medicine, students are introduced to popularisation of scientific concepts. To encourage emulation and add an element of fun, the English teachers decided to organize a competition, “It’s not Rocket Science”, to select the best video clips.

The students choose a concept or phenomenon covered in one of their courses and present it in pairs in a 3-minute video aimed at secondary school pupils taking part in the “Printemps des Sciences” (Spring Science Festival). They are offered professional support, from coaching to filming.

The aims of this exercise: to offer an insight into what we do at the university, to inspire young people to study science and to give students a very practical approach to scientific English.
