Workshop: Pitching your research to diverse audiences

Workshop for students and doctoral students who wish to present the results of their research during conference poster sessions.

As part of the VIII Space Resources Conference, we are pleased to invite you to a special online event designed to help students and doctoral candidates improve their science communication skills.

This interactive workshop will guide you through the key elements of delivering a compelling scientific pitch—perfect preparation for anyone planning to present their work during a poster session.

What to Expect

Led by experts in science communication:

  • Anna Krukiewicz-Gacek (AGH University of Krakow)
  • Sonja Bretschneider and Isobel Kersting (Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf)

The workshop will include

  • Scientific elevator pitches – rules, structure, and best practices
  • Interactive breakout sessions to practice your pitch in real conversations
  • Feedback, conclusions, and tips for improvement

This event is organized within the UNIVERSEH project and is open to all students and doctoral candidates from UNIVERSEH partner universities (you don’t have to take part in the Space Resources Conference).

Pitch Your Research! – Poster Session Competition

Participants of the workshop are also invited to take part in the Pitch Your Research! Poster Session Competition, held during the official poster sessions of the VIII Space Resources Conference.

Disclaimer: Only students and doctoral candidates who have registered to present their poster at the Space Resources Conference are eligible to participate in the competition.

This is your chance to:

  • Put your newly learned skills into action
  • Present your research to a broad audience and a panel of jurors
  • Receive valuable, constructive feedback

The jury will evaluate each pitch based on:

  • Time management
