A Royal visit for UNIVERSEH

UNIVERSEH is proud to have been part of the academic delegation that welcomed the King and The Queen of the Belgians at Sorbonne University during Their Majesties Royal State Visit to France.

An UNIVERSEH delegation had the opportunity to present current and planned initiatives from UNIVERSEH to the King and the French minister of Research, Innovation and Higher Education, M. Hetzel.

At the Sorbonne, a renowned Parisian university, Their Majesties the King and Queen of Belgians met Belgian and French university authorities and students to discuss the role of European University Alliances as drivers of change and innovation in higher education.

Belgian and French universities play a key role in these alliances, a project supported by the European Commission and inspired by French President Emmanuel Macron’s speech in 2017.

These alliances aim to transform higher education, offering European students not only an interdisciplinary approach and innovation skills, but above all a stronger sense of belonging to the European Union.

During the visit, Belgian and French students shared their enriching experiences and underlined the added value of these collaborations for their studies and institutions.
