The cosmic conference “Humanities in Space” unfolded at the AGH University of Krakow from March 11th to 13th, 2024, marking the commencement of the second edition of the international UNIVERSEH project. The event brought together participants from all seven partner universities, fostering knowledge exchange and international collaboration. The conference was also made accessible to partner universities in Ukraine through online streaming.

The conference featured insightful lectures from knowledgeable speakers such as:

  • Joost Vanreusel from the European Space Agency (ESA),
  • Prof. Thais Russomano from InnovaSpace,
  • Ph.D. Joanna Pyrkosz-Pacyna from AGH University of Krakow,

Following the lectures, students engaged in a Q&A session with representatives from space agencies and firms. Additionally, students presented ongoing space-related projects during the interactive session.

Throughout the event, participants took part in workshops and team-building activities, fostering stronger bonds and collaboration among UNIVERSEH members. A ceremonial dinner provided an opportunity for integration, accompanied by the recognition of outstanding UNIVERSEH students through special awards.

The conference aimed to inspire attendees, nurturing new ideas and strengthening relationships among partner universities. As we look to the future, we anticipate the themes explored by the speakers to be further developed through research and collaborative efforts. With a vision of inclusivity and sustainability, we echo Pd.D.. Joanna Pyrkosz-Pacyna’s words: “space is for you, you are good enough!”
