Monday June 19, UNIVERSEH organised its third Diversity Conference, which took place at Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. The event brought over 90 participants from UNIVERSEH partner universities, along with students from Ukrainian universities: IFNTUOG (Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas) and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University , who were eager to explore as unconscious biases, discrimination, inclusion and many more.

*During the World Café session, an integral part of the conference, the participants engaged in meaningful discussions by gathering around round tables. The unique format of the World Café encouraged a diverse mix of students to share their perspectives on key questions related to diversity and inclusion. Each question prompted lively conversations and allowed for a comprehensive exploration of various viewpoints.
The following thought-provoking questions were posed to the students:
- How would you describe the current status of diversity on your campus?
- Which groups are particularly present and which could be better represented?
- What do you think are the biggest challenges in your studies?
- What specific actions would you like to see to break down these barriers and create an inclusive environment for all students?
This event invited students from all study levels and disciplines to join forces , creating a platform to learn, discuss, and envision a future defined by diversity, inclusion, and equality. The conference concluded with closing remarks, leaving the attendees inspired, motivated, and equipped with a deeper understanding of the significance of diversity in both space and higher education. UNIVERSEH’s third Diversity Conference organised by Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf was a success, thanks to the enthusiasm and active participation of the students.
