UNIVERSEH at II Forum of European Universities Alliances

UNIVERSEH takes a major step forward by participating in the II FORUM of European University Alliances.

The UNIVERSEH Alliance will be represented at the FORUM by Professor Eric Tschirhart from the University of Luxembourg, together with Emmanuel Zenou, UNIVERSEH coordinator from the University of Toulouse, and Pascal Maussion, Vice President for the International Affairs at Toulouse INP.

Professor Tschirhart will contribute to the session on the European legal status for Alliances of Higher Education Institutions, sharing his insights on the objectives and added value of the pilot projects EGAI, ESEU, Leg-UniGR, and STYX.

The event is scheduled to unfold amidst the inspiring setting of the Fábrica de Creación Fibra y Coats Museo in Barcelona. This gathering brings together European universities leading alliances in the European Universities initiative – a visionary effort by the European Commission. Building on the foundations from the initial forum under the French Presidency, the Spanish Presidency continues this tradition. Each trio of presidencies hosts a forum with a main session addressing a key issue, while parallel sessions are devoted to specific sectoral issues. The forum programme is rich in-depth discussion. Discussions will focus on the legal status of “European Universities” alliances and the “European Diploma” label. These align with the Commission’s call for pilot projects in 2023. Discussions also explore alliances; global impact and subjects suggested by student associations. The forum concludes with impactful insights. Attendees include university-focused ministerial representatives, counterparts from local and regional administrations, and influential figures from business and society. Also participating are universities not in alliances and quality agencies from various Member States. This confluence promises diverse exchanges, propelling the European Universities initiative forward.
